Visit by Gordon Siu (Founder and Chairman) and Cynthia Wong (Executive Director) of the Hong Kong Music for Our Young Foundation (MOY).

A visit to the Kian Kok Middle School was arranged on Monday 2 Nov. by Yap Ling. The school presented performances by their Chinese orchestra, concert band and their Kian Kok Youth Orchestra (KKYO) for the 2 guests from Hong Kong.

Later, an agreement has been signed for the school to join the MOY network for future exchange and workshops. This is followed by a concert trip planned for next September to be held in Hong Kong where the 3 school ensembles were invited with an irresistible offer of all expenses paid trip except airfares. What a surprise! It is like striking a rotary. It is indeed a golden opportunity not to be missed. This will be a giant step forward in term of musical experience. Yap Ling will be leading the delegation and he is invited to perform few solo and conduct a few numbers for the concert in Hong Kong. The concert in Hong Kong will be also a combined concert with other schools' orchestras from Hong Kong & overseas.

As a whole, Mr. Siu was very impressed with the keenness and the positive attitude shown by the school teachers and students towards music learning, character building and discipline. Hence decisions were made rather instantaneously.
